Trudy Halla Named a Top Woman in Finance

Halla was selected on the basis of her overall impact at Briggs and Morgan, significant accomplishments within the firm and financial industry, community involvement, and how she carries out Briggs’ values.

  • More than 28 years of public finance experience;
  • 2006 transactions totaled more than $1 billion;
  • In practice, has represented nearly 100 municipalities (including four of the state’s five largest cities), and many port authorities, lenders, investment banking firms, nonprofits and corporations;
  • Work has involved financing transactions in 24 states, including Minnesota and the Upper Midwest.

Halla is also a celebrated leader and mentor. She has served in a management capacity at Briggs and Morgan for more than 15 years. In the legal community, she remains active with the Hennepin County Bar Association, Minnesota State Bar Association, Minnesota Women Lawyers, National Association of Bond Lawyers, American Bar Association, National Conference of Bar Presidents, and the National Conference of Women’s Bar Associations.

As for community impact, Halla has touched organizations such as the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation, Junior League of Saint Paul, Minneapolis YWCA along with a number of others.

Among her other accolades, Halla is a fellow of the American College of Bond Counsel. She also recently accepted Minnesota Women Lawyer’s Myra Bradwell Award.
