Tim is a shareholder in the firm’s Minneapolis office and is a member of the Business Litigation Section. In addition, he serves as co-chair of the firm’s recruiting committee. Tim concentrates his legal practice in the following areas:

Commercial Disputes
Tim provides counsel and litigation services to small businesses and large corporations in a wide variety of areas including corporate governance, privacy, employment, general commercial claims, non-compete issues and contract disputes.

Fires and Explosions
Tim represents businesses in defense of claims stemming from fires and explosions.  He has represented clients in matters involving accidental fires, electrical fires and claims of product defect.

Environmental
As part of his environmental practice, Tim represents potentially responsible parties with respect to contamination at state and federal sites and has experience defending companies against personal injury claims relating to toxic exposure, as well as property devaluation.

Awards
Tim has been named a “Rising Star” by Minnesota Super Lawyers and a “Future Star” by Benchmark Litigation.

Professional Associations
Tim is a member of the Minnesota American Bar Association and is admitted to practice before the state and federal courts in Minnesota. He also is admitted to practice in the Eighth Circuit Court of Appeals.

Education
Tim received his B.A. summa cum laude from the University of North Dakota and his law degree from Northwestern University School of Law. Tim joined Briggs in 1996.

Tim enjoys spending much of his free time coaching youth sports, including baseball, basketball and football.
