Sally Scoggin Receives Ramsey County Bar Association 2018 Distinguished Humanitarian Service Award

MINNEAPOLIS, MINN.  –   Briggs and Morgan shareholder Sally Scoggin has received  the Ramsey County Bar Association 2018 Distinguished Humanitarian Service Award. This award is presented each year to an individual who demonstrates substantial length of humanitarian service to the bar and the community, outstanding professional performance and outstanding achievement in service to the citizens of Ramsey County.

Throughout her career Scoggin has worked on access to justice issues. She has held multiple bar-related positions dedicated to increasing civil legal services for low income people, has consistently provided pro bono legal services for non-profit organizations and for individuals in order for protection, housing and other cases, and serves as a pro bono mediator for the Minnesota Department of Human Rights. She has been active in Briggs’ pro bono program and has served as a board member and in leadership roles at several non-profit organizations including SMRLS, Neighborhood House and Illusion Theater.

“I am deeply honored to receive this award,” stated Scoggin. “Working with such a wonderful constellation of dedicated and creative people and organizations has been among the great pleasures of my life. I’m grateful to the many organizations in our community that are dedicated to addressing access to justice and other social justice issues and to my colleagues at Briggs for their support and active community engagement.”

Scoggin is a member of the Briggs Employment, Benefits and Labor section. Her work includes helping employers navigate, litigate and/or resolve difficult employment issues.  

The award was presented at the Ramsey County Bar Association Judges’ Dinner on Thursday, March 22 at Town & Country Club.
