Finance & Commerce Names Elizabeth Brama a Top Woman in Finance

MINNEAPOLIS, MINN – Briggs and Morgan is pleased to announce that shareholder
Elizabeth (Liz) Brama has been recognized by Finance & Commerce as a 2016 “Top Women in Finance” honoree. This award recognizes women in the Twin Cities financial community for their outstanding contributions and dedication to their profession, communities and society at large.

Brama is chair of Briggs’ Energy section and a member of the Business Litigation section. Her practice focuses on complex contested matters, and she has successfully resolved financial disputes ranging from multi-million dollar acquisitions to regulatory rate proceedings. Brama, a Certified Public Accountant (inactive), practices primarily in the following areas: energy industry litigation, regulation and commercial transactions, financial and accounting disputes, general complex commercial litigation, breach of contract and fraud, and appellate law. She formerly served as firm Treasurer for seven years and as a member of the firm's Board of Directors.

Brama shares her time and talents with a broad range of non-profit organizations for the betterment of the Twin Cities community. She serves on the board of directors and executive committees for the Children’s Law Center and the Minneapolis Downtown Council. She also serves as an advisory board member at the William C. Norris Institute and on the board of governors for the University of St. Thomas School of Law. Additionally, Brama has served as a volunteer Guardian ad Litem in Hennepin County since 2001, helping to give abused and neglected children a strong voice in our court system.
