MINNEAPOLIS, MINN. – Complex commercial litigation attorneys Alan Kildow and Sonya Braunschweig have joined Briggs and Morgan’s Business Litigation section as shareholders, bringing more than 55 years of combined litigation experience in banking, insurance, real estate, construction and general commercial litigation.

Kildow concentrates in the prosecution and defense of complex commercial litigation, with an emphasis on disputes arising out of banking and insurance transactions. He has represented banking, insurance, and other Fortune 500 clients in civil and class actions involving antitrust, RICO, lender liability, fraud, breach of fiduciary duty, breach of contract and deceptive trade practices, among other disputes. He also represents banking and insurance clients in investigations, enforcement proceedings, and civil litigation with regulators and attorneys general.

Braunschweig has successfully represented Fortune 500 companies in multimillion- and billion-dollar lawsuits, including class actions involving the insurance and mortgage lending industries. Her practice includes trials and appeals before state and federal courts, as well as commercial arbitrations. In addition, she is experienced in representing clients in examinations, investigations and civil litigation with insurance regulators and attorneys general.

“We could not be more delighted to have Alan and Sonya as part of the Briggs family,” said Greg Stenmoe, Managing Partner of Briggs and Morgan. “Both are highly regarded and bring an impressive resume of experience in large complex commercial litigation for national and international companies. When lawyers of this caliber join the firm, everyone benefits.”

Prior to joining Briggs, Kildow and Braunschweig were with DLA Piper’s Minneapolis office, where Kildow served as managing partner for the past 12 years.
