Minnesota Lawyer recently spoke with Briggs and Morgan shareholders Heidi Fessler and John Degnan about their experience surrounding e-discovery and Briggs’ new innovative e-discovery practice group. The article discusses the knowledge required when working with electronic data, lawyers’ roles in e-discovery, as well as Degnan and Fessler’s expertise with e-discovery. Fessler leads the firm’s E-Discovery and Information Governance Practice Group and is a founding member of the Minnesota E-Discovery Working Group. She works with clients on a wide variety of matters involving the discovery of electronic data within the context of litigation and investigative matters. Fessler strives to raise awareness regarding digital data and the role of information governance, e-discovery and risk management within the corporate environment.
Degnan is a member of the firm’s Business Litigation Section and the firm’s E-Discovery and Information Governance Practice Group. He is a Fellow of the American College of Trial Lawyers and has more than 35 years of experience handling civil litigation, jury trials and administrative proceedings. Degnan was a member and co-chair of the Minnesota E-Discovery Working Group which developed best practices in e-discovery.
