Briggs and Morgan Welcomes Seven Associates

MINNEAPOLIS, MINN. – Briggs and Morgan welcomes attorneys Joey Balthazor, Brandon Blakely, Erin Conlin, Lucas Frasz, Krista Jermusek, Kirsten Pagel, and Tom Welty to the firm. All seven join Briggs as associates.

Balthazor is an associate in the firm's Intellectual Property section. He is a graduate of Mitchell Hamline School of Law and earned a Bachelor of Arts in Economics with a minor in Spanish Studies from the University of Minnesota. Balthazor earned a Master’s of Education degree in Sport Management from the University of Minnesota. He clerked for the Honorable Jill Flaskamp Halbrooks at the Minnesota Court of Appeals.

Blakely is an associate in the firm's Business Litigation section. He earned his J.D. from the University of Minnesota Law School, and a Bachelor of Arts degree in Psychology at Arizona State University and a Master’s of Science Education at the University of Kansas. Prior to law school, Blakely worked as a director related to housing at the University of Kansas, University of Wisconsin-Whitewater, and the University of Minnesota.

Conlin is an associate in the firm's Business Litigation section. She received her law degree with a concentration in Civil Litigation from the University of Minnesota Law School, cum laude, and earned her Bachelor of Arts in Communications, magna cum laude, from Boston College. Prior to law school, Erin was a paralegal and legal assistant at a boutique litigation firm in Boston.

Frasz is an associate in the firm's Real Estate section. His practice includes real estate purchase and sale transactions, leasing, real estate due diligence, and title and escrow matters. Prior to joining Briggs, Frasz was an attorney at Monroe Moxness Berg PA in Bloomington, MN. Frasz received his J.D. from the University of Minnesota Law School, magna cum laude and his Bachelor of Arts in Political Science from the University of Minnesota, College of Liberal Arts.

Jermusek is an associate in the firm's Real Estate section. She is a graduate of Mitchell Hamline School of Law and earned her Bachelor of Arts in Accounting from the University of Saint Thomas. She has numerous years of experience in real estate, including working as a commercial real estate agent for five years and serving as an underwriting intern for a title company.

Pagel is an associate in the firm's Business Litigation section. She received her J.D. from Mitchell Hamline School of Law, summa cum laude, and earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Agricultural and Food Business Management from the University of Minnesota. She was a 2016 summer associate at Briggs and joined the firm after a clerkship with Judge Matthew E. Johnson at the Minnesota Court of Appeals.

Welty is an associate in the firm's Corporate and Business Law section. He is a graduate of the dual JD/MBA program at the University of Minnesota Law School, cum laude and Carlson School of Management. Welty earned his Bachelor of Arts degree in International Studies and Italian, magna cum laude, from DePaul University. He was a 2015, 2016, and 2017 summer associate at Briggs.
