Briggs and Morgan Welcomes Attorneys Marcus Ploeger and Matthew Wolf

MINNEAPOLIS, MINN. – Briggs and Morgan is pleased to announce Marcus A. Ploeger and Matthew Wolf have joined the firm. Ploeger rejoined Briggs and Morgan’s Financial Institutions and Real Estate section as an associate. Wolf joined the firm’s Real Estate group as an associate.

Ploeger practices primarily in the areas of mezzanine finance, structured finance, commercial lending, asset-based lending, unsecured lending, banking and finance and private equity financing. Ploeger negotiates and documents a variety of finance transactions on behalf of mezzanine debt investors, banks and other financial institutions. He concentrates a significant amount of his practice on the representation of mezzanine and junior capital funds in subordinated debt and equity investment transactions. He represents banks and other financial institutions in connection with senior and subordinate credit facilities and asset-based loans. He also represents borrowers in connection with working capital and other secured and unsecured financing arrangements.

Ploeger spent four years as an attorney at Briggs and Morgan before assuming a business role at a large financial institution, where he spent three years managing investments on behalf of trusts, foundations and individuals.

Wolf practices primarily in the areas of commercial purchase and sale transactions, leasing, real estate development, real estate finance, zoning and land use, and wind and solar farm acquisition and development. He is experienced in a variety of real property transactions, including leasing, sales, acquisitions, construction and real estate finance. He also provides real estate counsel to other practice groups, including those whose work involves corporate matters, mergers and acquisitions, real estate lending and the regulation of land use.

Wolf’s prior experience as a licensed contractor allows him hands-on familiarity with nearly every phase of a real estate project. In addition, he has experience in executive roles both at a real estate management and development firm, as well as a real estate brokerage. He maintains his real estate broker license in order to provide his clients with additional insight. Prior to joining Briggs, he served as a real estate attorney at a large national law firm.
