MINNEAPOLIS, MINN. (May, 2015) – Briggs and Morgan shareholder Michael H. Streater was recently inducted into the American Board of Trial Advocates (ABOTA), a national, invitation-only organization of lawyers and judges who are recognized for their outstanding trial work and professionalism. With only 189 Minnesota members, ABOTA strives to elevate the standards of integrity, honor and courtesy in the legal profession.
Streater joins Briggs attorneys Sam Hanson, John Degnan, Bob King and David Schooler who also are members.
Streater has practiced in the area of commercial litigation since 1979. In recent years, his practice has had an emphasis on intellectual property, minority business owner disputes, professional malpractice, construction litigation, and equine litigation and administrative proceedings. Over the last 30 years, Streater has served as lead counsel in the trials of numerous cases in state and federal courts in Minnesota and elsewhere. He has had extensive experience in alternative dispute resolution procedures, including arbitrations and mediations. Streater is a qualified neutral under Minnesota Practice Rule 114, authorized to conduct mediations and other alternative dispute resolution procedures.
