Attorneys Alison Midden and Shehla Tauscher Recognized by Minnesota Women Lawyers

MINNEAPOLIS, MINN. (April 23, 2015) – Shareholders Alison J. Midden and Shehla P. Tauscher of Briggs and Morgan, Professional Association, were among those recognized by Minnesota Women Lawyers (MWL) with a 2015 Service to MWL award for contributing to the development of the MWL Foundation.

The MWL Foundation was formed to support the charitable activities and mission of Minnesota Women Lawyers -- an association of nearly 1,300 attorneys, judges, law students and legal employers, dedicated to advancing the success of women attorneys and striving for a just society. 

Midden is co-chair of Briggs' Estate Planning and Administration Section and advises clients on estate, gift, and generation-skipping transfer taxes, charitable planning, asset-protection planning and disability planning. She also works with a variety of tax-exempt corporations and charitable trusts, helping organizations obtain and keep tax-exempt status, and advising on governance, structure, and compliance with federal and state tax law.

Shehla Tauscher also is a member of the Estate Planning and Administration Section. Her practice includes estate planning, drafting wills and trusts, trust and estate administration, business succession planning, and preparation of related federal and state income, estate and gift tax returns. In addition, Shehla’s practice involves a significant amount of nonprofit representation. She has experience working with family foundations, private foundations, charitable trusts and public charities.
