Attorney Tiffany A. Sanders Selected as Director of Pro Bono

MINNEAPOLIS, MINN. – Briggs and Morgan is proud to welcome Tiffany A. Sanders as the firm’s new director of pro bono. In this newly-created role, Sanders will manage the firm’s day-to-day pro bono activities, work to find pro bono opportunities for the firm’s lawyers, and coordinate the firm’s ongoing pro bono commitments. Sanders will serve as a liaison to community legal service providers, coordinate pro bono trainings and events, and work closely with the firm’s Pro Bono Committee to implement the firm’s strategic pro bono goals.

Since 2010, Sanders has been the coordinator of the Pro Se Project, a unique collaboration between the United States District Court, District of Minnesota, and the Federal Bar Association, Minnesota Chapter, to enhance access to justice. As coordinator, Sanders places pro se civil litigants federal judges refer to the Pro Se Project with volunteer lawyers. Sanders’ work coordinating the Pro Se Project is widely regarded as innovative and successful, and the American Bar Association recognized the Pro Se Project’s with its prestigious Harrison Tweed Award.

Sanders received her J.D. from Gonzaga University, and she attended the University of Memphis as an undergraduate.

Much of Briggs’ pro bono activity is dedicated toward serving individuals and nonprofits referred to the firm through partner organizations that screen matters based on income, need and type of case.
