Scott Flaherty Joins Briggs and Morgan

MINNEAPOLIS, MINN. – Briggs and Morgan, Professional Association, welcomes associate Scott M. Flaherty to the firm. Flaherty is a member of the Trade Regulation Section and practices principally in the areas of intellectual property and antitrust law. Concentrating his practice in the areas of patent infringement, contract disputes, business torts and antitrust violations, Flaherty’s experience includes representing corporations in patent and complex commercial disputes and advising on matters relating to 35 U.S.C. § 292 patent false marking actions.

Flaherty is admitted to practice in Minnesota state and federal courts, the 8th Circuit Court of Appeals, the Federal Circuit Court of Appeals and the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office. He received his B.S. in biomedical engineering, magna cum laude from Washington University in St. Louis. He received his J.D. with distinction from the University of Iowa College of Law, where he was the executive editor for the Journal of Corporation Law. After law school, Flaherty clerked for the Honorable Kevin G. Ross, Minnesota Court of Appeals.
