Briggs Attorneys to Speak on Data Security for Law Firms

Briggs and Morgan shareholders Phil Schenkenberg and Jason Asmus will present in a Minnesota CLE webinar on Thursday, June 19 – “Data Security for Law Firms: Legal and Ethical Implications.” The webinar will explore data security issues for law firms including structure, policies, response plans and insurance issues, along with the ethics implications associated with knowledge of technology and obligations to notify clients.

Schenkenberg is co-chair of the firm’s Business Litigation Section and is a member of the firm’s Privacy and Data Security Group, which offers a full range of services to help clients prevent, prepare for, and minimize the impact of data security breaches and cyber attacks. He also serves as the firm’s Data Security Manager and chairs the firm’s Information Security Committee.

Asmus is a member and vice-chair of the Business Litigation Section. He represents a broad range of individuals and corporate clients in all matters of business disputes. He regularly represents law firms in professional liability cases.  Asmus also practices in the areas of banking litigation, commercial real estate and construction defect litigation, land use planning and zone litigation, and environmental litigation.
