MINNEAPOLIS, MINN. (Dec. 9, 2011) – Briggs and Morgan, Professional Association is pleased to announce that the Minnesota Justice Foundation has named shareholder Sally A. Scoggin as the recipient of the 2011 Distinguished Service Award. The Distinguished Service Award is presented to an individual who has made substantial contributions to the community and has demonstrated commitment to public interest work by promoting programs and policies that have a positive impact on the society as a whole.
A member of Briggs and Morgan’s Employment, Benefits and Labor Section, Scoggin represents employers in litigation and administrative proceedings, and provides counseling and training to management on a full range of employment issues. She is an MSBA Certified Specialist in Labor and Employment Law. Scoggin chairs the board of the Illusion Theater and School and is a member of the Neighborhood House board. She is past chair of the Minnesota Supreme Court appointed Legal Services Advisory Committee and recently completed her term on the statewide planning committee for legal services. She also is a former board member of Southern Minnesota Regional Legal Services (SMRLS), where she remains a volunteer. She is a past recipient of the 21st Century Leadership Award from the Campaign for Legal Aid. Scoggin is a member of the Minnesota State, Ramsey County and Federal bar associations and Minnesota Women Lawyers.
