Two Attorneys Join Briggs and Morgan, P.A.

Briggs and Morgan, Professional Association welcomes two new attorneys, Elise Larson and Michael Sawers, to the firm. 

Larson joins as an Associate and is based in the firm’s Minneapolis office. She is a member of the Business Litigation Section. Larson received her B.A. in political science and environmental studies summa cum laude from Concordia College in Moorhead, Minnesota. She received her law degree magna cum laude from the University of Minnesota, where she was a managing editor of theMinnesota Law Review. During law school, Larson served as a judicial extern to the Honorable Judge Kermit Bye on the Eighth Circuit Court of Appeals and the Honorable John Tunheim of the United States District Court for the District of Minnesota. Before joining Briggs, she clerked for the Honorable Lorie Skjerven Gildea on the Minnesota Supreme Court.

Sawers joins as an Associate and is based in the firm’s Minneapolis office. He is a member of the Business Litigation Section and White Collar Crime and Enforcement-Related Civil Litigation Practice Group. Sawers received his B.A. in strategic communications and public relations from the School of Journalism at the University of Minnesota. He received his J.D. magna cum laude from the University of Minnesota Law School, where he served as a first year legal writing instructor. He was also a member of the Minnesota Journal of International Law, during which time he focused on Foreign Corrupt Practices Act research. Sawers is also an adjunct instructor at the University of Minnesota Law School. Prior to joining Briggs, he served as a Law Clerk to the Honorable Jeanne J. Graham, United States District Court, District of Minnesota.
