As part of his litigation practice, Mike has handled a variety of disputes involving business contracts, utility property damage, right-of-way disputes, loan defaults, commercial leases, land use and real estate matters and has successfully represented a broad range of clients in all phases of litigation through appeal and judgment enforcement. Mike is admitted to practice in Minnesota and the U.S. District Court for the District of Minnesota. He also serves on the Board of Directors for Great River Greening in St. Paul.
Mike received his B.A in legal studies and political science from the University of Wisconsin-Madison. He received his J.D. magna cum laude from Hamline University School of Law, where he was on the Dean’s List and earned three CALI awards for achieving the highest grade in his class. In 2007, Mike received an award for Outstanding Achievement in Labor Law from the Labor and Employment Law Section of the Minnesota State Bar Association. Prior to joining Briggs, he worked in the gas field and also as a law clerk for a Fortune 500 gas and electric utility company. Mike joined Briggs in 2008.
