In his article, "Navigating Registration and Disclosure Requirements When a Franchisor Changes its Fiscal Year End," associate Nate Buller discusses registration and disclosure issues facing a franchisor that changes its fiscal year end. Buller discusses some different ways in which such a change may be implemented, as well as how a franchisor may navigate its registration and disclosure obligations under the FTC Rule and the registration states in each scenario. He also explains why franchisors must be proactive and strategic when considering such a change. The article was published in American Bar Association’s The Franchise Lawyer (Summer 2012).
