Briggs and Morgan's Neal T. Buethe and Michael C. Wilhelm co-author a chapter in Thomson Publishing Group's Human Resources 2008 - Summer Edition, which was released in July.

"Corporate Indemnification: A Step-by-Step Guide for HR Professionals"  discusses how employers can competently handle indemnification claims as they arise. By definition, "corporate indemnification" refers to the act of compensating one or more directors, officers, employees or agents of a company for liability personally incurred on the job. More specifically, this chapter addresses:

  • how to identify requirements for indemnification;
  • assessing whether requirements are satisfied;
  • internal processes for indemnification claims; and
  • litigation potential.
