Briggs and Morgan shareholders Phil Schenkenberg and Claire Joseph presented "Communications Best Practices and Pitfalls for Trusts and Estates Lawyers," a Minnesota State Bar Association CLE on March 8, 2018, in Minneapolis.

The CLE was well-attended, with Schenkenberg and Joseph presenting to more than 50 in-person and remote participants. The presentation focused on how estate planning decisions or the actions of professional fiduciaries can cause disputes and subsequent communications with non-clients may create thorny issues that can complicate litigation. In "Communications Best Practices and Pitfalls for Trusts and Estates Lawyers," Schenkenberg and Joseph addressed best practices to consider when managing communications to clients, and explained how failure to think through communication issues on the front end can create additional risk and cost in litigation.
