Fundamentals of Franchising, Third Edition
The American Bar Association’s (ABA) Fundamentals of Franchising is now available in its third edition. The book provides an overview of several basic areas of law as they relate to the franchise model.
Briggs and Morgan franchise attorney Andrew C. Selden edited this practical guide with colleague Rupert M. Barkoff. They also co-authored Chapter 7 on counseling franchisees and prospective franchisees. Other chapters in the book include:
-
trademark law
-
structuring the franchise relationship
-
franchise disclosure issues
-
franchise registration
-
franchise relationship laws
-
antitrust law
The new edition is updated to reflect important changes made to disclosure requirements under the revised Federal Trade Commission Rule, and antitrust law concerning resale pricing practices under the Supreme Court's Leegin decision. Briggs and Morgan’s president Alan H. Maclin was named a contributor for the chapter on antitrust law.
