Lawyer Recruiting Manager - Minneapolis


Position is available for a full-time Lawyer Recruiting Manager in Briggs' Minneapolis office. This position is responsible for managing and coordinating the lawyer recruiting function, associate training and evaluation, professional development and diversity. The position provides management support to the chair persons of these lawyer committees including:
  • Coordinating summer associate program (budget, event planning, training, evaluations)
  • Coordinating fall recruiting program (budget, law school receptions, on-campus interviews, call back interviews, evaluations)
  • Coordinates lateral hiring process (places ads, contacts search firms, acts as point person for lateral placements)
  • Screen resumes, work with lawyers to select interview candidates
  • Coordinate Recruiting Committee meetings and agenda
  • Provide management information to Recruiting Committee (recruiting statistics, Affirmative Action, salary data)
  • Work with Marketing on recruitment materials and website
  • Coordinate new associate orientation and mentoring program
  • Coordinate associate evaluations
  • Coordinate in house training programs and educational programs utilizing internal and external resources, monitor and obtain feedback
  • Develop and monitor related operating budgets; annual plan; prepare interim reports as requested
  • Identify programs to increase diversity at firm and retention and promotion of women and minority lawyers
  • Plan, organize and execute Diversity programs
  • Provide diversity information and data for prospective clients in Requests for Proposals

Requirements include:
  • Bachelor's Degree
  • 4 to 6 years recruitment, placement or human resources experience
  • Prior work experience in a law firm or other professional services firm preferred
  • Ability to project a positive image of the firm to the legal community, law schools and potential applicants
  • Ability to interact positively and effectively with lawyers and other law firm personnel
  • Excellent communication skills (oral, written and interpersonal)
  • Excellent public relations skills
  • Ability to prioritize workload, work independently with minial supervision
