Brett D. Anderson

Shareholder; Business Law

Brett is a shareholder in the firm of Briggs and Morgan, Professional Association. He is based in our Minneapolis office and is a member of the Business Law Section. Brett practices principally in the areas of:

  • Corporate finance
  • Securities regulation
  • Mergers and acquisitions
  • Corporate governance
  • General corporate counseling

He concentrates his practice in public offerings, private investments in public equity, private placements, venture capital financing transactions and securities law compliance. Before joining Briggs, Brett served as an extern in the Division of Corporation Finance at the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission in Washington, D.C. In addition, Brett formerly served as a White House intern in the President's Office of Intergovernmental Affairs.

Brett has been named a "Rising Star" by Minnesota Law & Politics and has lectured on the Sarbanes-Oxley Act for Minnesota Continuing Legal Education. He serves on the board of directors for Junior Achievement of the Upper Midwest. He is admitted to practice before the Minnesota and District of Columbia courts and is a member of the Hennepin County, Minnesota State, District of Columbia and American Bar associations.

Born in Minneapolis, Minnesota, Brett received his B.A. cum laude from Carleton College and his law degree with honors from Washington University School of Law. Brett joined Briggs in 1995.
