Kathleen Eick counsels clients on mergers and acquisitions, financing transactions, public and private securities offerings, and commercial contracts (including marketing contracts).
Before joining Briggs, Kathleen was an attorney at Maslon LLP. During her time there, Kathleen participated in a secondment with a Fortune 500 company and, subsequently, led the company’s business and legal team members through a reorganization and ultimate sale of the corporate structure.
Kathleen's client service is enhanced by her experience working as an investment banker with Credit Suisse's Private Fund Group in London, where she performed financial analysis and due diligence on behalf of private equity funds seeking portfolio investments, including company valuations, market and geographic trend research and sector-specific return assessments.
Kathleen earned her J.D. from Georgetown University Law Center, where she was a contributor to the Georgetown International Environmental Law Review. She earned her bachelor's degree from Duke University with a double major in Public Policy Studies and Arabic Language and Culture.
Kathleen also studied at Qatar University and the American University in Cairo and speaks several dialects of Arabic language.

Kathleen values pro bono service as a way to contribute to the community and is a member of the Board of LegalCORPs, a non-profit organization which provides pro bono legal services for low-income businesses or non-profit organizations.
