Mike Moberg is a member of the Employment, Benefits and Labor Section practicing principally in the areas of:

  • Labor law
  • Employment litigation
  • Employment counseling

Mike has significant experience representing employers in labor and employment law and regularly represents employers in all aspects of traditional labor law. He assists employers facing union organizing attempts and represents employers before the National Labor Relations Board and federal courts in labor matters, negotiates collective bargaining agreements for employers and provides guidance on labor negotiations strategy, and represents and defends employers in labor arbitrations.

In the employment area, Mike’s experience ranges from advising clients how to minimize their legal exposure to avoid formal charges and lawsuits, including providing training to supervisors and managers, to defending clients who are facing charges from state and federal agencies or who have been sued in state and federal courts. Mike has successfully litigated and defended claims involving many forms of discrimination (including race, age, sex, national origin, disability and sexual harassment), retaliation, Family and Medical Leave Act (FMLA), whistleblower, employment contract, Fair Labor Standard Act (FLSA) and non-compete issues.

He is a frequent speaker on labor and employment law matters, and has been a guest lecturer in both the undergraduate and graduate business schools at the University of St. Thomas. He also is a regular contributing editor to the authoritative labor law treatise, The Developing Labor Law, published by the American Bar Association.
