John is a member of the Financial Institutions and Real Estate section.
With nearly 50 years of experience, John's practice focuses on business, financial and real estate law and includes representing numerous closely-held companies in formation, stockholder and member relationships, mergers and acquisitions.
John represents community banks and other financial service companies in handling lending originations and workout matters, and has extensive experience in complicated financial transactions needing creative and sophisticated solutions to difficult issues involving closely held companies, real estate and loan collateralization.
He is repeatedly recognized as a leading business and banking attorney and has earned an AV® Preeminent™ Peer Review Rating by Martindale-Hubbell and has been named a Super Lawyer by Minnesota Super Lawyer magazine.
John earned his law degree from William Mitchell College of Law and attended St. John’s University and the University of Minnesota as an undergraduate.
