Erin Ellis is a member of the firm’s Finance & Restructuring section where she serves as Commercial Finance Counsel. In this role, Erin brings her extensive commercial contract drafting and negotiating experience to the team and to the clients to provide support and guidance on finance transactions. Erin is responsible for partnering with her colleagues and clients to provide the highest quality legal services in an efficient, cost-effective way.
Erin brings her in-house counsel, contract strategy and law firm experience to the Finance & Restructuring team and clients. Prior to joining Briggs, Erin was the lead procurement attorney providing legal support for the crop protection business of Land O’Lakes, Inc.’s agronomy subsidiary. She worked closely with senior management on strategy around, and management of, an extensive contract portfolio. Erin was responsible for drafting and negotiating critical agreements for the company as well as providing guidance to business clients on risk mitigation and contractual adherence. In addition, Erin also served as Counsel to several operations business departments at Land O’Lakes, where she not only provided legal support and guidance, but also oversaw the Contracts Administrator. Erin was instrumental in developing and managing several Law Department processes and legal template development to improve efficiencies and sustainability. Erin’s previous experience also includes her work as a Contract Strategy Associate, where she partnered with business teams to construct and implement strategy and approach for Deluxe Corporation, and as an associate at a Minnesota law firm.
Erin received her J.D. from William Mitchell College of Law and her B.A. from the University of Minnesota.
