Aleya brings a unique perspective to Briggs’ intellectual property team—she has worked as a patent examiner for the USPTO, and has had corporate, university and law firm experience. In addition to drafting and prosecuting U.S. and foreign patent applications, Aleya works closely with clients on a wide variety of intellectual property matters, including formulating patent filing and portfolio development strategies, the preparation of infringement and invalidity opinions, negotiating various types of IP-related agreements, performing due diligence for acquisitions and divestitures, and providing litigation support for patent infringement lawsuits. Aleya also counsels large and small companies on developing trade secret training programs for personnel.
While attending law school, she was a member of the Giles S. Rich Intellectual Property Moot Court.
