Shareholder; Estate Planning and Administration
Drew is a shareholder in the firm's St. Paul office. He is a member of the Estate Planning and Administration Section and focuses his practice in estate planning.
Named a "Minnesota Rising Star" by Minnesota Super Lawyers, Drew assists individuals in drafting wills and trusts, administers trusts and estates, and prepares related federal income and estate tax returns. He has testified numerous times before various Minnesota House and Senate committees in support of various Probate and Trust Section bills, and he is a frequent lecturer on topics including retirement plan distributions, drafting the disclaimer revocable trust, the probate process and drafting will and trust documents.
Drew is a member of the Minnesota State and American bar associations. He served six years on the Probate and Trust Section Council of the Minnesota State Bar Association (MSBA) and recently was elected treasurer for the Council. He has been a member of the Legislative Committee of the MSBA Probate and Trust Section since 1998 and has served as co-chair of that committee since 2010. He also is a member of the board of directors for Southern Minnesota Regional Legal Services (SMRLS).
Drew received his B.A. magna cum laude in economics and Russian from St. Olaf College and his law degree cum laude from the University of Minnesota Law School, where he was a member of Phi Beta Kappa. Prior to joining Briggs, Drew was an associate with another law firm where he concentrated his practice in the area of estate planning. He joined Briggs in 2001.
